Creative Cafe

Students participated in our first Creative Cafe on Wednesday, November 2nd.  The cafeterias were transformed into a festive fall atmosphere with table decorations and the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie.  Each student was encouraged to write on a leaf something they are thankful for or something they like about DIS.  So many heartfelt messages were written and some that are sure to put a smile on your face.  When you come to school to pick up your child or for conferences, please take the time to read what our students are thankful for.

Thank you Dr. Reich, Mr. Crowther and Mr. Stralo for promoting Creative Cafe. Thank you River Road Produce for donating the gourds. Thank you to the Cafeteria Aides and to our volunteers for helping students enjoy this special lunch.

And coming soon…check out the turkeys at conference time to see what our teachers and staff are thankful for.  ;)oct-creative-cafe-1 oct-creative-cafe-2 oct-creative-cafe-3 oct-creative-cafe-4 oct-creative-cafe-5 oct-creative-cafe-6 oct-creative-cafe-7 oct-creative-cafe-8

Thank you for visiting our website!  We are excited to be able to connect with you another way.

DIS PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of Donegal Intermediate School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.  Any parent or guardian of a student at DIS is a member of the PTO and has voting rights.  Any teacher employed at the school is also a member of the PTO and has voting rights.  We encourage parents/guardians and teachers to be involved in the PTO and attend meetings, where voting happens most often!

PTO meetings are held the first Thursday of each month, September through June, at 7 p.m. in the library.  Please mark your calendars!

We have a lot of ideas for building community at the school between students, parents/guardians, and teachers.  Our goal is to have an event each month outside of school hours to help this initiative.  We hope to have these events on various nights of the week to allow for more people to be involved.

We are also going to try some new fundraising activities this year.  We hope you will partner with us to raise the funds necessary that aren’t included in the school building budget, such as field trips.  Please visit our Fundraising tab to learn more.

Thank you to everyone that completed the volunteer contact form!  We cannot be effective without our volunteers, so THANK YOU!!!

Check back often for more information and updates!
